Biogas: energy from waste.

Kiefer designs, installs and operates biogas plants that convert biomass into energy.

OVERVIEW

From Biomass to Bioenergy

Turnkey biogas plants, covering every stage from initial design and licensing to the construction of the digestion tank, feedstock analysis and performance estimation.

How a biogas plant works
  1. Feedstock Analysis

Analyse the available organic materials, such as agricultural residues and animal manure, to find the right mix for the plant.

  2. Anaerobic Digestion

In a sealed digestion tank, microorganisms break down the organic matter without oxygen, producing biogas.

  3. Energy Conversion

The biogas fuels a generator that produces electricity and heat; the remaining digestate can be used as fertiliser.
