Cookie Policy
This website does not use cookies to track you, analyse your visits or show you advertising. This policy explains what cookies and similar storage are, what little this site stores in your browser, and how you can control it.

What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit it. Browsers also offer similar storage, such as local storage, which keeps small pieces of data on your device in the same way. Websites use them to work more efficiently, to remember choices, and to give information to website owners.
How We Use Cookies and Similar Storage
This site does not set any cookies of its own. It does not use cookies or similar storage for tracking, analytics, performance measurement or advertising, and it does not build a profile of your visits. What it does store in your browser is described under Necessary Storage below: a copy of the site's own files, so that pages load quickly, and the sign-in session of a content editor. Because of this, the site does not show a cookie consent banner.
Necessary Storage
This storage either makes the site load faster or is needed for a feature you asked for, and it is never used for tracking. None of it is a cookie. The copy of the site's files is kept for every visitor and contains no personal data. The sign-in session applies only to people who sign in to the content studio at /admin, which is meant for authorised Kiefer content editors; a visitor who only reads the site never has it.
What We Do Not Use
This site does not use any of the following:
- Analytics or statistics cookies, or analytics services of any kind.
- Performance cookies.
- Advertising or marketing cookies, or advertising pixels.
- Social media plug-ins or embedded third-party content that set cookies.
Third-Party Services
Using the site involves a few services run by others. Our own code does not set cookies for them, but your browser sends them ordinary technical information, such as your IP address, whenever it contacts them:
- Careers page: the list of open positions is loaded from Ashby (api.ashbyhq.com) when you open the page, and each position links to our job board at jobs.ashbyhq.com. Ashby handles applications under its own terms and privacy policy.
- News pages: the published news is loaded from our database provider, Supabase, when you open them, with no cookies and no sign-in. Some news items link to model pages on sophea.ai, our Sophea AI website; nothing is loaded from it until you follow one.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe in the footer, your email address is sent to our database provider, Supabase, and stored there, and our email provider, Resend, sends a confirmation to it. See our Privacy Policy for how we use it.
- Links to other sites, such as our LinkedIn page, the map link on the contact page and the model pages on Hugging Face, are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from those sites until you follow one, and the sites you go to have their own cookie policies.
- Fonts are served from this site itself, not from an outside font service, and images normally are too. A news article may occasionally show an image hosted elsewhere; in that case your browser requests it from that host, which receives your IP address.
Managing Cookies and Stored Data
You can control and delete cookies and other site data in your browser at any time. Removing or blocking storage for this site will sign a content editor out, but it does not affect reading the site.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies and to delete cookies and other site data. The methods for doing so vary from browser to browser. You can obtain up-to-date information about blocking and deleting cookies via the help function of your browser.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
If This Changes
If we ever introduce analytics, any other cookies or storage that are not strictly necessary, or new third-party services that receive your data, we will update this policy first and, where consent is needed, ask for it before they are used.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to the cookies and storage we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Please revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
