KIEFER unveiled its comprehensive technology ecosystem, combining green energy, computing power infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence applications, and advanced robotic systems, during a special event held on Thursday, June 18, at its facilities.
The Greek technology company, which began its journey in the energy sector, is now evolving into a key pillar of the domestic AI and robotics industry. Within KIEFER's model, each layer powers the next: energy from renewable sources fuels supercomputers; the supercomputers train AI models; and these models become the "brains" of advanced robots. By handling all four stages internally (energy, computing power, software, and robotics) the company offers its clients affordable Artificial Intelligence operating natively in Greek.
In an environment where AI application development often relies on infrastructure located outside of Greece, KIEFER invests in creating a complete domestic AI ecosystem. In collaboration with NVIDIA, the company ensures that data, computing power, human talent, and critical technological infrastructures remain and are processed within Greece.
KIEFER's path started in energy, boasting a renewable energy project portfolio that today exceeds 600 MW in operation. Building on this green foundation, KIEFER is developing an integrated AI Factory: a production center for the massive computing power demanded by modern AI. The facility hosts the first NVIDIA SuperPOD supercomputing cluster in Greece.
At the software layer, KIEFER has developed:
• Sophea AI: A comprehensive Greek AI ecosystem. Under this umbrella, the company released Sophea K1, an open-source Large Language Model (LLM) designed from scratch for the Greek language and Greek data, allowing organizations to deploy advanced generative AI without relying on foreign platforms.
• Sophea Canary ASR: The new bilingual (Greek/English) speech AI model of the company's open-source program, which converts spoken audio into high-accuracy text and offers direct translation from Greek speech to English from a single model. It delivers professional-grade accuracy in Greek (with an error rate of just 2.9% in conversational speech), integrates specialized medical and legal vocabulary, and was trained entirely on a compact desktop device, proving that top-tier speech recognition no longer requires massive data centers.
• Sophea Nous: Consolidates scattered organizational knowledge, addressing the issue where employees spend up to 20% of their time searching for information across dozens of systems. The organization can "chat" with its own data in natural Greek, receive answers complete with source citations, and create specialized AI agents for every department while keeping data within its own infrastructure.
• Sophea Meet: A specialized solution for meetings, providing real-time transcription, summaries, and action items in Greek. Supported by the Sophea Meet Card, it ensures precise recording of every word with top-tier audio quality and advanced AI noise isolation for in-person meetings.
Additionally, Hyperion-X is an autonomous AI platform for electrical energy markets. It covers generation forecasting for renewable sources, balancing, and automated trading (ENTSO-E / ENEX), targeting RES producers, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and traders.
The final layer of the stack is Physical AI: translating artificial intelligence from the screen into the physical world via robotic systems. As the exclusive authorized partner of Unitree in Greece, KIEFER develops the operating system for humanoids and quadrupeds that "see," understand, and speak Greek, utilizing edge computing to process data directly on the robot without cloud dependencies.
The quadruped robots are engineered to operate in demanding and hazardous environments, with the primary objective of safeguarding humans. Their core applications include:
• Inspection of energy infrastructure and high-voltage substations.
• Patrolling and surveillance of critical facilities.
• Construction project progress monitoring and field data collection.
• Support during the installation of photovoltaic parks.
• Civil protection and natural disaster response operations.
In the field of civil protection specifically, KIEFER has developed a specialized quadruped robot for firefighting and emergency response operations, suited for environments where human access is impossible or extremely dangerous.
KIEFER CEO, Christos Petrocheilos, emphasized:
"Greece's technological autonomy is not built by importing ready-made solutions, but through our own infrastructure and human capital. Our goal is to enable every Greek organization to leverage Artificial Intelligence at an affordable cost, without surrendering control of their data".
About KIEFER
KIEFER is a Greek technology company evolving from the energy sector into an innovation pillar for Artificial Intelligence and robotics. It develops the entire AI stack—green energy, computing power infrastructure, the Sophea ecosystem, the Hyperion-X platform, and applied robotic systems—enabling Greek organizations to adopt AI while keeping their data inside Greece. The NVIDIA SuperPOD infrastructure serves as one of the cornerstones of this endeavor.
