Athens International Airport - 35.5 MWp with 82 MWh BESS

A 35.5 MWp photovoltaic station with an 82 MWh energy storage system at Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos". One of the largest self-production and self-consumption photovoltaic systems with energy storage at an airport worldwide. As EPC Contractor, KIEFER undertook the entire project, from design and procurement to construction, operation and maintenance, delivering a complete turn-key solution. The project enables AIA to become one of the first airports internationally with 100% energy self-consumption from RES, contributing decisively to achieving the "Route 2025" goal for zero emissions by 2025. The advanced JinkoSolar SunTera storage system offers high reliability, safety and performance, ensuring stable green energy supply in all phases of airport operation.
